Comfy Cases Community Sewing Workshop

Join us to learn how to sew sweet pillowcases and learn about Comfy Cases and how to donate your sewn pillowcases!

Country Clothesline has been a drop off location for Comfy Cases for some time and we are honoured to expand our connection with this special program.

Comfy Cases is a Canadian non-profit organization that brings volunteers together to stitch fun, colourful pillowcases for children in hospitals with cancer or other life changing illnesses. As a program of Ontario Parents Advocating for Children with Cancer (OPACC), they are dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and their families.

In this workshop you will learn the clever burrito method to sew cotton pillowcases, including french seams. The pillowcase you make in this workshop is yours to keep, but we hope you will be inspired to make more that you can donate to Comfy Cases in the future. Of course you can also use your new technique to create lots of pillowcases for your friends and family too - they do make great gifts!

workshop includes all fabric for your first pillowcase 😊

volunteer instructor: Nancy Rawlinson

skill level: the only experience you need for this class is your ability to operate your sewing machine comfortably, sewing basic straight stitches

Janome sewing machines are provided - so no need to bring your own machine!
