Learn to Sew Series

A fun four week series of evening sewing classes (Thursdays 6:30 - 9:00) designed for the beginner. Focussing on a new project each week, you'll create four fun and useful projects.
You will bring home a finished project each week!
Week 1 - The Pencil Case / Zippered Pouch
Learn how to sew a zipper and a french seam on this cute pouch.
Week 2 - Project Apron
Learn how to use facing, and sew simple straps and pockets.
Week 3 - Summer Blanket
Learn to sew mitred corners, how to hand tie a quilt and the ins and outs of using different fabrics for your project.
Week 4 - Tote Bag 
You'll learn how to sew and attach straps, box corners, how to use different types of interfacing and stabilizers and how to insert a lining.
Teacher - Sherri Sylvester of Thread Riding Hood. An expert sewist, Sherri has created numerous tutorials and original patterns including The Fat Quarter Skirt, and many Quiet Books.  She has been a feature speaker at Creativ Festivals, is a Janome Artisan currently working with Janome Canada, and she writes for the Craftsy Sewing blog.  She is also a lot of fun :)

Suggested Experience -  You should feel comfortable with the basic operation of your sewing machine.
Materials Required - Bring your own sewing machine. A complete list of requirements will be provided for each project. You provide the fabrics so you can make each project all yours!  All patterns are included in the course.
